The terms and conditions below are effective Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Bring-a-Friend promotion (the ‘Giveaway’), all of the following criteria must be met:
- The participant must be a legal resident of Canada, excluding residents of Quebec.
- The participant must be registered to attend the Financial Empowerment Event for Young Women in Ottawa on May 2, 2026
- The participant must be between the ages of 13-18
- The participant must have recruited one (1) friend to attend the event
- The referred friend must:
- register for the event; and
- Be identified by the participant as their referrer in the registration form
- Only one (1) referrer may be associated with each referred friend
- In the event multiple participants claim the same referral, the first completed registration submission naming the referrer will be considered valid
- Both the participant and the referred friend must be between the ages of 13-18
- Both individuals must:
- Complete the online registratinon form by Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST;
- Attend the full duration of the in-person event in Ottawa on May 2, 2026; and
- Check in with the event staff to have their attdance recorded
Parental Consent:
Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate. JA Canada reserves the right to request proof of such consent at any time.
How to Enter
No purchase is necessary.
To Participate:
- The participate and their referred friend must each complete and submit separate online registration forms within the Giveaway Period
- The referred friend must correctly identify the participant in their registration form
An entry will only be considered valid once:
- Both individuals have registered within the Giveaway Period; and
- Both individuals attend and are verified as present for the full duration of the event
JA Canada reserves the right to verify all entries and determine eligibility in its sole discretion.
Giveaway Period
The giveaway begins on April 21, 2026 at 9am EST and ends on April 30, 2026 at 5pm EST, or when a maximum of 100 total eligible registrations has been reached, whichever occurs first.
Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, as determined by the timestamp of completed registration submissions.
How to Receive the Gift Card
Eligible participants will receive one (1) gift card if they:
- Successfully refer one (1) friend during the Giveaway Period; and
- Both the participant and the referred friend meet all eligibility requirements, including full event attendance
Gift cards will be awarded:
- On a first-come, first-served basis to eligible participants;
- Up to a maximum of 100 total qualified participants
Limit of one (1) gift card per participant.
Gift Card Details
Each gift card has a retail value of $20 CAD.
Gift cards are digital and will be delivered via email.
Gift Cards:
- Must be accepted as awarded;
- Are non-transferable and have no cash value unless required by law;
- Cannot be substituted
JA Canada is not responsible for:
- Incorrect, invalid, or undeliverable email addresses;
- Lost, deleted, or misdirected gift cards after delivery
Notification of Fulfillment
Eligible participants will receive their gift card by email within 30 days following the event on May 2, 2026.
Only participants who meet all eligibility and attendance requirements will be contacted.
Once the maximum number of eligible participants has been reached, no additional gift cards will be awarded.
Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with this Giveaway will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Giveaway and in accordance with JA Canada’s privacy policy:

Limitation of Liability
JA Canada is not responsible for technical errors, late or incomplete submissions, or any issues that prevent a participant from completing the submission survey.
By participating, individuals release JA Canada from any claims arising from the Giveaway or the Gift Cards to the extent permitted by law.
General Conditions
JA Canada reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
- Violates these Terms and Conditions;
- Provides false or misleading information; or
- Attempts to tamper with or undermine the Giveaway process.
All decisions made by JA Canada regarding eligibility and qualification are final and binding. JA Canada reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Giveaway if circumstances arise that affect its proper administration, including but not limited to technical issues, fraud, or unforeseen events, subject to applicable laws. In the event the in-person event is canceled or cannot be held, JA Canada reserves the right to cancel or modify the Giveaway, including the distribution of gift cards. This Giveaway is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
