National Scholarships and Awards
The award listed below are available to students across Canada who are participating in the JA Company Program (2022-23 academic year). Student may be participating in the program either after school or in-school. Please click on the links below with more details about each award.

Individual Awards
Student Awards for Oratory & Presentation Skills
This award recognizes achievement in the development of speaking and presentation skills.
It is open to senior-secondary or post-secondary students who have participated in a secondary
school JA program within the past five (5) years. Up to four students will be awarded $2,500 each,
to further their post-secondary education. Award winners will be invited to present their speeches
at the annual BLBC Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremonies on May 30, 2023.
Apply by March 31, 2023.
Junior Entrepreneur Award
This award is open to executives of a student company in JA Company Program who have taken
the program in the 2022-23 school year. Up to four (4) students who have demonstrated
outstanding business acumen, growth or leadership will be awarded $2,500 each. Student
executives must be nominated by their JA Company Program mentor(s) or host teacher(s).
Award winners will be invited to present their speeches at the annual BLBC Hall of Fame Gala
Dinner and Induction Ceremonies on May 30, 2023. Apply by March 31, 2023.
Dr. Donald Rix Inspiring Business Excellence Scholarship
This award recognizes a self-identifying Indigenous OR rural (outside Metro Vancouver, Fraser
Valley and Greater Victoria) OR new immigrant student (born outside Canada) Junior Achiever who
has demonstrated significant growth in business skills, learning skills, leadership skills and/or
entrepreneurial skills.
The winning student will receive a $2,500 scholarship towards post-secondary education.

Jan Bell-Irving Award for Women's Leadership
This award’s purpose is to inspire and encourage young women to lead at the highest levels, with
heart. The Jan Bell-Irving Award recognizes a female Junior Achiever who demonstrates the
ambition to lead and the ability to do so with collaboration and kindness. The winning student will
receive $2,500 to further their post-secondary education. Apply by May 5, 2023.
JABC Basin Impact Award
This award recognizes two students from the Columbia Basin who have demonstrated how a JA
program significantly improved their work readiness skills and positively impacted their future.

receive $1,250 to invest in their future. Apply by May 5, 2023.

Student Company Awards
Student Company of the Year Award
This award recognizes excellence in teamwork and cooperation, and outstanding planning,
operation and performance of a JA Student Company. The winning JA Student Company will
receive $3,000 for the team. The team will also be entered into the national JA Canada Company
of the Year award. The National award winner will represent JA Canada at the international
JA Americas Company of the Year competition. Apply by May 5, 2023.

Celebrate Entrepreneurship Provincial Award
This award recognizes the JA Student Company that demonstrates the most innovation in their
business. Innovative products, services or business models will be judged by a panel of experts.
The winning JA Student Company will receive $3,000 for the team. Apply by May 5, 2023.
