World of Choices Event
Junior Achievement hosting high school students at career ‘marketplace’ event in London December 10
LONDON, ON - Junior Achievement of South Western Ontario (JA SWO) will host World of Choices (WOC) for 110 high school students from the London area on Tuesday, December 10.
WOC provides students with time to talk to business mentors from a wide variety of careers about future job opportunities. In small sessions, students learn first-hand what it takes to be successful. Each student can participate in interactive sessions that will open up a world of choices for them.
In this program, students learn how to design a career path, learn tools to meet the challenges of today’s work world, capitalize on career opportunities in emerging, traditional and non-traditional fields, and discover educational opportunities.
“Students gain a better understanding of careers and the educational foundation needed,” said JA president and CEO Bev Robinson. “They also develop a proactive attitude about a future career.”
JA offers a variety of free financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs to youth in the community, from elementary school students to high school students. Over 9,000 students participated in JA programs in the past year, delivered by trained volunteers from the business community.
