The JA Program Manager is responsible for the daily operation, planning, organizing, implementation, and administration of JA (Junior Achievement) programming throughout Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton, and Windsor-Essex. The Program Manager’s job portfolio includes organizing JA in-class programs, JA after-school Company Program, and JA summer camps across the region.


Primary Responsibilities                                                                                                                     

Program Management: Manage the registration and scheduling process for schools and teachers, matching volunteers to programs and acting as a liaison between teachers and program volunteers. Coordinate after-school Company Program and summer camp delivery, including scheduling, facilitation, and student recruitment. Assist in establishing and monitoring program delivery goals and budgets and reporting. Forecast and plan program materials needs.


Volunteer Management: Recruit volunteers through a variety of methods including cooperation with key contacts in JA’s community and corporate supporters. Provide training and support to all volunteers. Develop and implement activities to ensure retention and recognition of volunteers


Relationship Management: Develop new and nurture existing relationships with schools, educators, corporate coordinators, volunteers, and sponsors.


Additional duties and responsibilities: Maintain accurate program records in line with organizational standards and objectives. Represent JA in the community in a positive and professional manner. Assist in organizing and executing other JA-organized events and activities as required.


Education/ Experience                                                                                                                        

  • Relevant post-secondary education and/or experience is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in program, project or event management is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
  • Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle as some local travel is required.
  • Must be willing to complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Records Check.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent group facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Public speaking experience and knowledge of the education, business and/or JA community is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be innovative and forward-thinking, have project management experience and/or experience with summer camps or programs.
  • French-speaking is also an advantage, but not required.

  • Should be comfortable working collaboratively as well as independently.
  • The individual should be knowledgeable about corporate sponsorships and benefits and be familiar with Ontario’s education landscape.


This full-time position (40.0 hours per week) with regular business hours and some evenings/ weekends is available immediately. The position is based in Chatham, Ontario and reports to the Regional Director of JA South Western Ontario (Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton, Windsor-Essex)..
