JA Prince Edward Island has announced that Beverly Thomson, of CTV’s News Channel, will act as narrator for the 2017 Business Hall of Fame Gala. Thomson was co-host of CTV’s“Canada AM from 2003 until the program signed off in June 2016. During her tenure with Canada’s most-watched morning show, Thomson interviewed some of the nation’s most treasured musicians, athletes, actors, authors, politicians and dignitaries. Her near 30-year career has taken her around the world, including London, England in the midst of April 2011’s Royal Wedding build-up to film a series for “Canada AM”, to Vancouver to co-host CTV’s “Olympic Morning” program with Jay Onrait during Vancouver’s 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Rainnie is the host of CBC Radio One's morning show in Prince Edward Island, having started his career with CBC P.E.I. in 1993. He was a television reporter and journalist before finding his home in radio. For several years, he hosted and produced the popular afternoon show, “Mainstreet”.

During that time he occasionally was the guest host of “Sounds Like Canada” and “Weekend Mornings”, and was host of the summer program, “Lost and Found.” Along with his brother Bruce, Matt hosted the annual Easter Seals Telethon on CBC Television for many years.

The JA Prince Edward Island Business Hall of Fame was established in 1998 by JA P.E.I. to provide a link between the province’s economic heritage and the promise of a prosperous future by honouring key Island business leaders. The awards gala raises funds to support JA’s business and economic education programs that will reach more than 5,000 Island students this year in schools across the province.
