JA Canada (JACAN) is looking for an Instructional Designer who is passionate about youth education to support the development of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs and training courses.

 

JACAN is the national office for JA in Canada and a member of JA Worldwide. JACAN has been providing financial literacy, workplace readiness and entrepreneurship programs in partnership with the Canadian education system since 1955. Designed to inspire, prepare and help youth succeed, JA programs are delivered across Canada via a network of 14 offices across Canada to reach over 200,000 youth annually.

 

In pursuit of greater reach, relevance and impact, JA Canada is committed to digital transformation to leverage new technological resources and efficiencies while increasing potential reach via digital program accessibility. The JA Campus, launched in 2020, has more than 20 self-directed or facilitated learning experiences for teachers and students in grades 3-12. The Instructional Designer will work in collaboration with the programs team to update and develop self-directed and facilitated courses and volunteer training. The ideal candidate will have experience designing learning content for youth and a background, or good understanding of grade 3-12 curriculum and education in Canada.

 

A summary of the projects for the Instructional Designer includes the following:

  • Review existing program content and enhance to increase and ensure an interactive and inclusive learning experience
  • Update and develop Volunteer training courses
  • Move program content onto Moodle as required
  • Develop teacher training courses
  • Assist in the development of framework to assess and report impact
  • Review and update learning outcomes to align with curriculum objectives
  • Develop new self-directed courses for Junior, Middle and High school students
 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years experience in education or youth-focused course design and development
  • Education background
  • Ability to understand written English and French
  • Competency working in Moodle
  • Competency working in WordPress
  • Working knowledge of HTML 4 & 5
  • Competency working with Articulate Storyline
  • Knowledge of iSpring Presenter is an asset
