Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my JA program?
When registering, we ask that you provide multiple dates for program delivery. Staff then work to find a volunteer to meet your preferred date. Once a volunteer has been secured, staff will be in contact with you to ensure the date is still suitable.
How much notice do I need to provide for my booking?
We ask that you try to provide us with six weeks notice for any JA program. Our programs are taught by local volunteers and many of them need to notice to fit JA volunteering into their busy schedules. If you are looking for a program sooner, please connect with our Program Specialist to discuss possibilities.
Who will deliver the program in my classroom?
A trained volunteer from the local business community will visit your classroom as arranged by your Program Specialist. These volunteers will use the JA curriculum to teach your students but will also enhance the learning by sharing their own personal experiences throughout the day.
How much will this program cost my school?
Nothing! JA Waterloo Region offers JA programming completely free of charge thanks to the support of our generous donors, supporters, and volunteers.
Do we need to provide lunch/snacks for the volunteer(s)?
Providing lunch/snacks for your volunteer is not a requirement of your booking. We do ask if schools are able to provide lunch/snacks as a nice gesture for the volunteer visiting the school. Your JA Program Specialist will confirm this with you.
What if I have further questions about the JA program?
